01 Feb 2024: Royal Network & Production Alliance’s Information Archive 2014 is quoted here: “High power Perowskit solar cells with an efficiency of 20,1 % developed (article from17.11.2014) in Southern Korea. These cells were already certified in October 2014. A Perowskit cell was discovered in 2009. These cells will be very cheap, since Perowskites are available in masses. To manufacture such solar cells only very small amounts of the material are necessary. Solar power thus would be the cheapest power source - mentions the article. To date records only have arisen in the laboratory – the next step would be the manufacturing of efficient modules, stable and reliable. However the cell decomposes most rapidly when exposed to moisture.
Researchers hoped that the cells might be printed on glass, steel, plastic and other materials as parts of facades. This meanwhile has turned out as impossible, as I was informed http://green.wiwo.de/durchbruch-billig-solarzelle-erreicht-20-prozent-wirkungsgrad/”
31 Jan 2024: “Solar panels built with Oxford PV’s solar cell technology” – as claimed by Oxford PV – “will generate more power than comparably sized, silicon-only based PV technology – critical for delivering more affordable clean energy, accelerating the adoption rate of solar, and addressing the climate crisis. Leaders in perovskite solar technology | Oxford PV “Oxford PV, a spin-out of the University of Oxford, is a world leader in the development of perovskite-on-silicon tandem solar cells, which have a theoretical maximum efficiency of over 43%, compared to less than 30% for silicon solar cells.”
