08 Oct 2018 IPCC, Intergovernmental panel on climate change does not do research itself but evaluates the findings of many studies on the global climate. In order to stop the warming of the planet, the IPCC asks especially the politicians for rapid changes at all levels, as energy, industry, buildings, transportation. Observers speak of a wake-up call to the politicians. The data is also the basis for the world climate conference in December 2018 in the Polish city of Katowice.  Especially planned and existing coal-fired power plants are made responsible for the warming of the planet. The warming causes risks of rising sea levels, salinization of the fields, or floods due to storms in coastal areas such as in the Nile Delta. In the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement politicians had greed to a global warming degree below 2.0 degree. But now without drastic restrictions the planet is heading for 3 to 4 degrees.
